EWS was recently commissioned to carry out the safe removal of an asbestos-containing downpipe at a domestic property. The client required a fully compliant, swift and disruption-free solution after an asbestos survey identified the downpipe as a potential health hazard and replacement using plastic downpipe and soil pipe vent .
Scope of Work
- Full risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) completed in advance
- Setup of a controlled work area to prevent fibre release
- Removal of all asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in accordance with HSE guidelines
- Careful dismantling and double-bagging of asbestos downpipe sections
- Decontamination and secure transport to a licensed waste transfer station
- Issuance of Hazardous Waste Consignment Note for full traceability
